About the artist

Artist’s Bio

Janice Liley became a practising artist after completing her BFA at the National Art School in Sydney, Australia, in 2007. From the beginning of her artistic career she was drawn to the Australian landscape, captivated by its parched earth and vast skies that offer a vivid array of saturated hues and tints.

Influenced by artists such as Aida Tomescu and Jade Fadujutimi, her work takes the form of abstract landscape painting. Through gestural brushwork and a rich, intuitive palette, she explores the emotional charge of place—its energy, memory, and timeless presence.

A finalist of the Paddington Art Prize, her work appears in both private and public collections.

Liley now lives and works in Sydney, Australia.
