An ongoing exploration of form, color, and perception

Work held in private and public collections.

The Collections

Red

Red Sky at Night is a series born during the COVID lockdown. Confined to home, I found solace on my balcony and inspiration in the sky. I spent hours watching clouds drift like slow caravans across the horizon as dusty pinks deepened into vermilion and every red in between..

Abstract painting with dominant blue brushstrokes and hints of other colors.

Blue

Away from urban light pollution, I walk through woodland at sunset as light fades and contrasts soften. A quiet color palette emerges, shaped by shadows rather than form, dimness rather than clarity.

Abstract painting with broad white, gray, light blue, red, and brown brushstrokes layered and overlapping.

Ivory

This small series grew out of those hours of stillness, when I sought to capture the quiet dissolution of contrast, the way form softens when light is both everywhere and nowhere at once. Colour recedes, leaving only tone — a faint warmth, as if seen through mist or distance, through the gentle overexposure of a world not yet fully awake.

Each painting begins with a mark and unfolds over time

My Approach

My paintings are an inward reflection of how I see and feel about the outside world. Using bold, sweeping marks, I translate these intense feelings onto the canvas, creating a visual language that I hope, speaks directly to the soul.

An elderly woman with gray hair tied in a bun is painting an abstract mural on a large canvas in an art studio, with colorful swirls and streaks of paint.

Design is sought in moments of uncertainty, building upon marks that appear from the canvas.

I have learnt over time to find solace in the confusion and frustration, knowing, trusting that in this flux images will appear without warning or great fanfare. Like an old pair of lost jeans, the sight of which brings you shy comfort.
